Event Description

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art Library and the Art History Program at New College of Florida are co-sponsoring a lecture series entitled “Potpourri: A Marvelous Miscellany of Art and Ideas.” The series features New College Art History students presenting short lectures on artists from the Baroque, Renaissance, Modern and Post-Modern periods. The lectures will be held on February 2, 9, 23 and March 2 at the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art’s Library, which is located at 5401 Bay Shore Road in Sarasota. The lectures begin at 3:30 pm and run until 5:00 pm.

These lectures were originally prepared as papers for Professor Cris Hassold's course “Master Artists of the Baroque “ and “Twentieth Century Modern. The series is divided into two sections. The first is entitled “A it of the Baroque” and the second “Mostly Modern.” Each session will cover two artists.

This lecture series is open to the public and free of charge. However, seating is limited so please call the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art for reservations at (941) 359-5700 "1" ext. 2701 or 2702.
