YOGA ON SIESTA KEY PUBLIC BEACH ”Yoga the Way It was meant To Be”
Uplifting, Energizing, Releasing, Awakening
When you do yoga outdoors you can experience yoga as it was originally intended. “Being outdoors gives you access to a whole other world of sensations. It helps you feel part of a boundless existence, at one with an intelligent and sympathetic universe,” The pure unpredictability of being outside and exposed to the elements can strengthen your innate bond with nature and inspire your yoga practice allowing you to feel the poses in a whole new way. Ava’s yoga classes on SIesta Key Beach are designed to awaken your senses to the beauty of nature as you strengthen, energize and realign your body.
When you practice yoga outside you feel as if the natural environment becomes a wonderous spiritual sanctuary for enriching and broadening your experience of each pose and yourself. Ava’s leads you into a style of hatha yoga which allows you to move from the inside out, following your body’s natural inclination and rhythms. You’ll enjoy the flow of one pose into another without abrupt changes in body positioning as Ava’s slow and deliberate instruction allows you to take your time and connect to the feelings that are inspired by the poses. Yoga is a multi-sensual, organic, deeply spiritual experience, if you allow it to be.
With outdoor yoga the craft of sequencing is often influenced by environmental conditions such as the variations in heat, wind or humidity, or if it’s sunny or cloudy, therefore Ava’s posture sequences are never exactly the same from class to class. With Ava the flow of one pose into another must follow the rhythm and needs of the body and mind, but always within the natural flow of the environmental moment. Though no two of Ava’s yoga classes have exactly the same sequence of poses they are based on the same overall philosophy of motion, control and relaxation.
Reconnecting body and mind with nature on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is an exhilerating experience, so come down to the beach today and enjoy yoga as it was meant to be. Classes held on Siesta Key Public beach between the green and blue lifeguard stands. Class start times change seasonally so be sure to check the schedule page. Ava pays the county a beach access permit fee each month, donations are voluntary and greatly appreciated as they are the sole support the classes have and allow Ava to continue teaching all year round.
