Visit and join Art Center Sarasota. There you can exhibit and sell at member fees.

I'm also new to the area, I moved to my sister's house near Ocala in the spring. I grew up in Baltimore, and was living in the part of West Virginia that's near Washington DC for several years before coming here. I've been visiting the museums around here, and am just getting started with making contact with other artists.

I am also new to the area...moved from Charleston, SC. I was involved with the Art Guilds there and was able to show in a gallery there. Feel like a "fish out of water" right now. Looking forward to joining the Art Centers of Sarasota and Manatee, but I am a little overwhelmed by all the art options in the area....from Anna Marie down to Venice! Where to begin??? I figure things will eventually fall into place, just keep trying to visit as many art exhibits and shows as possble.

Hi Barbara - no, Alchemy is in the Village of the Arts - i may have mentioned that i work at a boutique on St. Armand's some evenings - maybe that's the confusion. People charge different commissions and you have to meet with people individually to see if they are interested in your work. Come visit the Village sometime and we can chat.
