I am an acrylics painter and have been with Island Gallery West on Anna Maria Island for two years. This is an endeavor I've dreamed of since school, but other employment and parenting responsibilities kept me from anything more than an occassional decorative mural at home.
During that my "pre-real artist period" I studied at the NY School of Interior Design, worked as an interior designer and as a window dresser for a Greenwich, CT decorating business, ran a small catering business specializing in desserts, wrote special interest articles for and worked on layout for a Greenwich, CT magazine, and owned a desktop publishing and graphic arts business producing marketing materials for small businesses (but not all at once!). All these businesses have a common thread of art, visual expression and a desire to try new artistic mediums. I also raised two wonderful daughters with my husband, Allen.
Since moving to AMI with my husband in 2005, I have dabbled in mosaics with ceramic tiles, pottery shards, beach glass and Italian glass tiles on projects such as tables, sideboards, mirrors, birdbaths, benches, trays and planters. My first love, however is painting acrylics on canvases. My beach baby paintings have resulted in a number of commissions. I specialize in landscapes and florals ... all meant to take the viewer on a visual “vacation.”

My Interests & Hobbies
I'm interested in enjoying summer all year long in my AMI lanai sipping cava ... local FL history ... kayaking canals when I feel nosy and social and mangroves when I don't ... playing Catch Phrase with friends ... Farmer's Markets ... learning about tropical gardening and orchids ... cooking for friends, mostly because FL doesn't have the great take out CT has and friends do need to be fed ... collecting mermaids ... listening to NPR when it isn't too depressing ... catching a daily dose of Keith Olbermann and ending the day with a Netflix movie or the Daily Show.
