Each season, the Bradenton Community Fine Arts Series presents the Sarasota Opera Studio Artists -- brilliant young singers who are the opera stars of tomorrow -- in a varied program of exciting arias and show tunes. WSLR Presents EMEFE, Afrobeat band from New York
EMEFE has only one intention: to play music that frees everybody in the audience and everybody in the band. The band was created by drummer Miles Arntzen in 2009 to explore and share the Afrobeat music pioneered in the 1970s and 80s by Fela Anikulapo Kuti and carried on today by Antibalas. The Hermitage Artist Retreat, in partnership with the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and its Art of Our Time programming at the Historic Asolo Theater, announces that two programs are scheduled in January featuring Hermitage Fellows working as composers.
