In film work most producers, directors are looking for the right look for the different parts. So, it's important to dress the part when auditioning. Sometimes it can be difficult to get a bead on what the character should be wearing, but it is important to try to get guidance from the sides you are given. And , in reality this will help you get into character when performing your audition.
The production of PERCEPTION continues and my day of portraying a DA in a wheelchair is coming up… Continue

On May 29 in 1912, fifteen women were dismissed from their jobs at the Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia, PA for dancing the "Turkey Trot" while on the job. There has been debate as to whether they were fired for dancing that particular dance or for the quality of their performance. Having been a wee mite at the time, I wasn't there, but I'd bet it was the quality of performance.
After all, the Curtis Publishing Company was the publisher of the Saturday Evening Post, which… Continue

Despite the lack of worthwhile incentives offered by Florida to prospective film production, there are some exciting projects that are bubbling under the surface and awaiting financing. My friend Beau Burton, Exec Producer at Florida Films here in Sarasota, has shared some of the percolating projects that he is working on. I wish I could give more details on them, but that would be inappropriate at this time. Rest assured that I will tell you everything when the time is right.
Despite my… Continue

Last July, I got hired at the very last minute -- 13 days before opening -- to light a show. My laptop computer was dying (rather dramatically so); there was no way it would make it through another show. At the time, I was in rural Vermont; there was obviously no time for mail-order and the closest thing to a computer store was Staples...and the only laptop they had that I could afford was a Dell.
I was hesitant to buy Dell. I'd had one 5 years before and the experience was not good… Continue
The Sarasota Millionaires released their regular season schedule for the upcoming season. All but 2 teams are familiar rivals of Sarasota from the now defunct Southern States Football League.
It's easy to get dazzled by the new video technology that can deliver high quality - even HD - images at an incredibly low cost. This allows many aspiring film folk to go out there and film away. However good this is, it does not address the quality of a script, direction or acting - not to mention composition or lighting. Somebody is still going to have to write an interesting script, be the producer who marshals the resources and find a director and actors who can deliver the vision of the… Continue
(Boynton Beach, FL) Thanksgiving came early for the Sarasota Millionaires as they held on to beat the East Coast Reapers 25-21 in the 5th annual Turkey Bowl game Saturday night in Boynton Beach, FL.
Quarterback Mike Peterson threw 2 touchdown passes and ran for another and the Millionaire defense put up a goal line stand in the last 2 minutes of the game keeping the Reapers out of the end zone to take the Turkey Bowl trophy. Peterson was named the MVP of the game.
Actors are often accused of hiding who they really are by playing parts that vary from their true selves. I like to think that actors should bring themselves into the roles they play. After all, an actor should apply his or her experiences and sometimes attitudes to truly embrace a character.Yes, we are still pretending to be someone else.
AMERICAN SOUTH starts shooting on the 13th for me, so I am prepping myself to be a sleazy mayor of a very small town. I am still awaiting word on the… Continue

The truth be known, grapes have been cultivated for thousands of years and wine has been consumed in many cultures over that time frame.
Advances in agriculture have improved production, consistency, and yield. However the grape is highly susceptible to disease, pestilence, mold and fungus. As a result, the use of inorganic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and… Continue
